CRITICALIST

Rare Opportunity. Practice at your best.

Cornell University Veterinary Specialists (CUVS) is looking for another critalist to join our amazing team.

CUVS is a unique hospital – a private practice and an independent subsidiary of Cornell University, bringing the best of both worlds - and also something quite different.

We are specialist-run. Our specialists are a cohesive team of clinicians who strongly believe in collaboration, communication, respect, and lifelong learning, and are actively involved in strategic medical and organizational decisions. We pride ourselves on our phenomenally and uniquely positive culture.

CUVS has specialists in emergency-critical care (5), internal medicine (3), surgery (2), radiology (2), oncology, ophthalmology, dermatology, dentistry-oral surgery, cardiology and anesthesiology. We have 6 ECC residents; no interns.

We fully understand and appreciate the unique needs of the internist, including for communication and medical record support, and work with the specialist/s to create the optimal service. We have all the tools, technology and staff for optimum patient care and clinician efficiency, and an exemplary team dynamic. The Internal Medicine department comprises 3 internists, a robust, experienced and highly functional nursing staff (including VTS-IMed) and a dedicated client liaison/coordinator. The department is further supported by strong interdepartmental collaborations, including a 365-day/year criticalist-staffed ECC department.

We are exceedingly well equipped, including with a 128-slice CT scanner, C-arm fluoroscopy and a comprehensive Interventional suite. We have a large and diverse caseload, and a clientele that are willing and able to pursue the best medical options for their pets. Our sophisticated infrastructure, technology and training facilitate optimal functioning for the busy specialist, as well as remarkable client satisfaction.

Our hospital operates as a private practice, with lucrative earning potential, but our specialists also have many opportunities for teaching and clinical trials internally and with Cornell.
