ANESTHESIOLOGIST
Rare Opportunity. Practice at your best.
Practice at your best, with excellent colleagues in an exceptional practice.

Cornell University Veterinary Specialists (CUVS) is a unique hospital – a private practice and an independent subsidiary of Cornell University. We are specialist-run. Our specialists are a cohesive team of clinicians who strongly believe in collaboration, communication, respect, and lifelong learning, and are actively involved in strategic medical and organizational decisions. We pride ourselves on our incredibly positive culture.
CUVS has specialists in emergency-critical care (5), internal medicine (3), surgery (2), oncology (2), radiology (2), dentistry-oral surgery (2), ophthalmology and cardiology. We have advanced Interventional Radiology-Endoscopy. We have had a part-time anesthesiologist for several years and are now looking to grow this to a full-time position.
We have all the tools and technology, a diverse caseload, and a clientele that are willing and able to pursue the best medical options for their pets. Our specialists are further supported by strong interdepartmental collaboration, including a 365-day/year criticalist-staffed ECC department and a robust and experienced nursing staff with many VTSs. We fully understand and appreciate the unique needs of each specialty, and work with the specialist to create the optimal service.
We are looking for an anesthesiologist to grow and manage the anesthesiology service, providing expertise and leadership as well as mentorship for our dedicated nursing staff.
While our hospital operates as a private practice, our specialists have many opportunities for collaboration, teaching and clinical trials with Cornell.

We take well-being seriously.
A healthy work environment is important to us! We want our doctors to thrive, not just survive.
Wellness and professional resources to provide an ideal work-life balance.
Flexible scheduling opportunities to find what works best for YOU.
Outstanding nursing staff and clinical administrative positions enable the specialist to work efficiently and effectively

Our compensation package is excellent, and includes: high % ProSal pay, signing and relocation bonus, 4 weeks’ vacation plus CE time, 401k with match, excellent medical and dental insurance for individual and family, disability and life insurance, pet healthcare insurance and discounts, allowance for CE, paid licensure and dues, and access to Cornell’s electronic library and subscriptions.
Located in Harbor Point, Stamford, on Connecticut’s “Gold Coast”, the area offers beauty, a rich cultural experience, and myriad water and other outdoor activities. We are 45 minutes from Manhattan and minutes from commuter trains and the Interstate, offering easy access to other parts of New England and the Northeast.
