

Cornell University Veterinary Specialists (CUVS), located in Stamford, CT is seeking a Purchasing & Inventory Manager to oversee the full cycle of purchasing, receiving, and inventory management for all medical, office, and janitorial supplies. This is a key role that ensures our hospital runs efficiently and is well-stocked to support exceptional patient care.
 
What You'll Do
- 
Manage the end-to-end inventory flow for Central Supply and all hospital departments 
- 
Prepare and place supply orders within approved budgets 
- 
Maintain and analyze inventory data using our inventory management system 
- 
Communicate directly with vendors to resolve product or delivery issues 
- 
Track recalls, backorders, and substitutions and communicate updates to leadership 
- 
Conduct monthly hospital-wide inventory counts 
- 
Monitor expired products and coordinate proper disposal 
- 
Train team members on accurate inventory request procedures 
- 
Maintain MSDS safety records for required products 
- 
Partner with the Director of Procurement to streamline purchasing processes and identify cost-saving opportunities 
What We’re Looking For:
- 
High school diploma or equivalent (post-secondary education a plus) 
- 
4–6 years of purchasing and inventory experience (veterinary or medical setting preferred) 
- 
Strong attention to detail and accuracy 
- 
Excellent organizational, time management, and problem-solving skills 
- 
Ability to quickly learn new systems and processes 
- 
Proactive, solutions-driven attitude with a sense of ownership 
- 
Comfortable working in proximity to animals (dogs and cats)
