OPERATIONS

Cornell University Veterinary Specialists (CUVS) seeks a skilled and proactive Director of Operations.  The Director of Operations (DO) is a mission-critical senior leadership position of CUVS.  Reporting directly to the Chief Operating Officer (COO), the DO is responsible for daily operations of our advanced specialty and emergency hospital, possessing a strong working knowledge of all aspects of practice management.
 

The DO is primarily responsible for ensuring outstanding service and operations - through optimizing systems and processes; proactive leadership and coaching; establishing, building and maintaining strong relationships with clients, referring
veterinarians and others; and maintaining our positive, engaged and high performing culture. S/he spearheads management and development of the Client Services and the Clinical Operations teams, as integral and collaborative departments - to perform and deliver on our core value of extraordinary medicine and service and to ensure attainment of hospital, team and individual goals. The DO also supports other leadership with respect to finance and productivity, marketing, human resources,
finances and IT, and is actively involved in tactical and strategic decisions, working closely with, and providing consultation to, the COO, CMO and other Directors.

 

The DO serves as the hub of the hospital, supporting leadership in uniting the team in their shared purpose. This role requires the ability to develop and leverage people and processes to maximize productivity while cultivating an outstanding employer-of-choice culture and a client, patient and referring community experience consistent with CUVS’s Mission, Vision, and Core Values.
